Little Lake's Parent Leadership Academy

Little Lake Elementary staff has partnered with the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) to encourage and empower parents to become more involved in their child’s education. Last year 86 parents graduated from the PIQE program. Throughout the nine-week program parents were given valuable resources to help with their child’s education and given a document that gave their child a guaranteed entrance into a California State School if they graduate high school and meet entrance requirements.

The parents who graduated from the nine-week program last year were invited to attend A PIQE Year-2 Parent Leadership Academy. The Parent Leadership Academy is a four-week program that was offered to further empower parents as leaders, find ways for parents to get involved at Little Lake Elementary, and discuss ways to improve their children’s educational journey.

Principal Amanda Niaves is excited to have such passionate parents at her school. She said it is amazing to watch the dedication they have for their child’s future educational goals and the time they are dedicating to ensure their students are on a pathway to succeed.
