Remember, you need to be on the list in order for the office let you through to the classroom. Please let me know by Tuesday if you are coming in to help.

I have one parent who has volunteered to donate donuts for our movie after lunch. Is there anyone who would like to do milk or hot chocolate? Let me know by Tuesday. Thank you so much for volunteering!

Classroom Update

Good Afternoon!
Happy Weekend!
It was hard getting back to the routines and working up to our potential after the week off. But your kiddos did great! We accomplished  a couple outstanding writings. One was sent home and the other is hanging in the room.

Today, Friday, there were a couple fliers that went home. One was for Little Lakes Santa Shop. This is a cheap way the students can purchase gifts for Christmas. We will be walking through on Monday and then shopping on Tuseday. Please make sure to fill out the envelope and send with money on Tuesday. You can send it Monday if that works for you.
The other flier was the Christmas trees from Washburn Ranch. The Washburn's have graciously offered to give back 10% of tree sales to Little Lake Kindergarten students. This is an easy way to help out our classrooms to supply extra learning materials. So, if you haven't bought your tree yet, bring this flier and you will be supporting a local business and your child.

I want to brag a little!!! Our class received the attendance trophy again! We have had the best attendance every month except for last month. Keep your children coming to school. Lets try for 100%.

I will be testing your children on their letter/sounds, sight words and other items next Friday. Make sure to be practicing.

Classroom Update

We've made it through another week. This week started out rough. The children struggled with noise and staying on task. By Wednesday, their behavior improved. It seems like when ever there's a substitute, the following day they struggle with my expectations in the classroom.

This next Tuesday we will have introduced all 26 letters and sounds. I am not expecting them to know all of them but at least half. I will be testing your children on Thursday. So make sure to be reviewing letters, sounds, sight words, rhyming, counting, and number recognition to 10.

On Wednesday we will be taking a math test on the computer. Make sure your child is at school on Wednesday and Thursday.

The next 2 weeks we will be learning about apples and participating in some fun activities. Friday we will make apple sauce. Yummy! We will be taste testing apples to see which ones we like the best. We might possibly be trying some other foods containing apples.

Today, your child should have received their school pictures. There will be make ups but Im not sure when. You will receive the class picture on a later date.

The week of September 25th, will be Parent/Teacher Conference week. Kindergarten will be getting out early everyday at 10:54. Please make sure to pick him/her up on time. My conferences start at 11:00. I have 4 parents who have not returned the conference form back. Please do so on Monday. I need to know whether you can meet with me. If you need another time, let me know and I will give you another time slot. I also have an opening at 7:10 am on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Just a friendly reminder... place your book orders by Friday, 22nd. If you want to order online, I posted the link on my website or go to https://oreders.scholastic.com/H8FKY. You may also pay by cash or check. Check needs to be payable to Scholastic.

I have started sending home Learning Dynamic books. They are blue. These books stay home. Find a safe place for them and have your child read them daily. When they are able to read it to me perfectly, they will receive the next one. If your child is struggling with reading it, that is completely OK! They just aren't ready to read and blend sounds together. Make sure to keep these books, I do not have extras.

Enjoy your weekend!
