Welcome to Kindergarten 2016-2017

I'm so happy to have you in my class this year.  Just a few notes to make your first day run smoothly:
School hours
Mon - Thurs     7:45 - 12:47
Friday              7:45 - 11:57
All Little Lake students will now enter through the main gate by the school office. Please use this gate to enter and walk your child to the Kinder playground.
I dismiss my students (Room 108) at the gate by the front office.

In case you and your child decide to make a brochure or a poster board for your Ocean Animal project, these are a couple of templates you may use for your final project, or as inspiration if you choose to create your own.  Don't forget that student writing should be neat and tidy, and reflect your child's pride in accomplishment of a quality project.

Animal Report Booklet

The Animal Report Booklet is a template which can be cut apart and pasted onto a full-page poster or onto a 3-fold piece of construction paper (to make a booklet). A photo example of this style is on the back page of your project packet.

Activation Codes and Links to student online activites

Second grade students at Little Lake have the opportunity to use several online programs to practice and refine their skills in many subject areas.  Below, you'll find the links to several of the sites so that your child can continue his or her practice and fun at home.

Scholastic Book Clubs

I'm so excited to see my students love of reading this year!  They have been working on developing their independent reading skills using a wide range of books.  You can help increase your child's exposure to good books by browsing through the Scholastic Book Club flyers that come home each month.  Now, you may also shop for them online and surprise your child with a new book as a gift or even as a reward for a job well done.  Follow the link below to the parent portal for Scholastic Book Clubs.  For every order our class earns points toward free books to add to our classroom library, too.  That's a win-win deal!
