Governing Board Recognition - March

The Governing Board of the Hemet Unified School District, on nomination by Trustee Rob Davis, has selected Nancy Excell, Teacher at Little Lake Elementary School, as the March recipient of the Governing Board Recognition and Award.

Mrs. Excell received her Bachelor’s Degree from the College of St. Benedict in 1988 and her Master’s Degree from Azusa Pacific in 1993. She began her teaching career in HUSD at Hemet Elementary in 1989 and transferred to Little Lake Elementary in 2006 where she currently teaches 2nd grade.

Mrs. Excell is an outstanding teacher who works tirelessly to provide a premier education for her students. With the adeptness with which she teaches reading, her students make significant gains every year. Her phonic lessons are among the best. Mrs. Excell has also been able to reach students with some of the greatest behavior challenges. Through her caring relationship with them and the hard work she puts into working with them until they get it, she has been able to dramatically improve their positive behavior and their academic success. Anyone that knows Mrs. Excell, knows that she is dedicated to making sure each student succeeds at high levels and will go to the ends of the earth to make sure they do. In addition to what she does in the classroom, Mrs. Excell also serves on Little Lake’s PBIS Tier 1 Team. During this challenging year, she has continued to serve on this team and has helped to develop ways to boost positive behavior and engagement schoolwide. Little Lake is fortunate to have Mrs. Excell as part of their school family.

For outstanding performance, professionalism and loyalty to the Hemet Unified School District, Trustee Rob Davis presented Mrs. Nancy Excell with the Governing Board Recognition of Excellence Award and a $500 certificate to be used toward the District program of her choice.
