WELCOME TO 5^TH GRADE

My name is Mrs. Christie and I will be your child’s teacher for this very exciting year of learning. I have been teaching now for 21 years. Where the time goes I have no idea. During my 21 years of teaching, I have taught mostly 5^th grade along with a couple of years in 4^th and 6^th.

I have high expectations for each student in my class and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations. I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you. I am available daily to talk with parents between 7:00-7:30 and 2:00-3:00. As we begin this new school year, I am really looking forward to working with you and your child. Please read through the first day packet and fill out any information that is needed. If you could return it with your child as soon as possible I would greatly appreciate it.

As much as possible I try to supply the students with everything they will need to be successful in class. However, some students enjoy having their own supplies. That’s fine, but please do not go out and spend a lot of money. Some suggested supplies would be: pencils, whiteboard, paper, highlighters, glue sticks, and colored pencils. If you would like to donate and items to the class that will need to be replaced as the year progresses, it is greatly appreciated (Expo markers, Clorox wipes, colored markers, lined paper, and Kleenex).
