Welcome to Room 210!

I have been teaching at Little Lake since 2002, and have worn many "hats" in that time. I live in Idyllwild - so I drive down the mountain every day, and often have interesting stories to share about what I saw on the way. Besides spending time with my dogs, my great passion is reading - which I hope to share with all my students!

It turns out that there are a few papers that must have parent signatures on file, rather than only in digital format. Envelopes with those papers, as well as PTA membership, are going home Friday. Please fill them out and return as quickly as possible! Thank you for your cooperation!!

QUESTIONS

Family Letter 8-19-16

Friday, 8/19/16

Dear Families,

We’ve completed a second week of school, surviving the heat August usually brings our way. Mrs. West kindly allowed students to take out one library book this week – our library day is Friday, and we just visited her – so your child should have a book to read for next week. We are still waiting for homework packets to arrive.

As you noticed with registration this year, Hemet Unified is committed to digital communication. If you have not already done so, you can visit the Little Lake website at littlelake.hemet.org where you can also access any of the digital programs the district has invested in. These are fantastic ways for your child to practice the skills necessary for success at their own level. If you do not have access to a computer or the internet at home, Mrs. West keeps the library open for one extra hour after dismissal daily and you may access the computer lab next to the library. Students using the school library must be accompanied by an adult! Please take advantage of this resource.

Back-to-School Night is Thursday, August 25th. Classroom presentations by teachers will be held at 6:00 p.m. and again at 6:30 p.m. Please try to attend so we can share important information with you.

Picture Day is the following week, on August 30th. We also hope to send home PTA membership information soon. Please consider joining our PTA, which  provides many wonderful experiences for our students at Little Lake! PTA just launched the Box Top$ for Education coupon drive. Your participation is appreciated!

I look forward to meeting you at Back-to-School Night. You can most easily reach me via the district email at kmaywald@hemetusd.org

Thank you for sending your child to school on time and ready to learn! We have a really sweet group of students.

Ms. Maywald

Welcome Back 2016!

I look forward to meeting all of you!
